Pant Measurement Guide

Pant Waist Measurement

Lay the pant on a flat surface, face up with the waistband closure buttoned and fly zipped/buttoned. Now measure across the waistband at top from one end to the other end using a cloth measuring tape

Hip

Lay the pants on a flat surface, face up with the waistband buttoned and fly zipped. Go up 1/2” towards the waist from the fly line point. Perpendicular to this point ( parallel to the top of the waistband), measure exactly from one side end to the other end using a cloth measuring tape. If the pants have pleats, then measure with the pleats closed and not stretched.

Front Rise

With the waistband buttoned and fly zipped, start measuring from the crotch point, right till the top of the waistband ,using a cloth measuring tape.

Back Rise

With the waistband buttoned and fly zipped lay the pants face down so that the back of pants are visible. Pull down on the bottom of the crotch until the intersection of the inseams is visible . Now using a cloth measuring tape, start measuring from the crotch point going up till the top of the waistband.

Inseam

Lay the pants flat sideways so that both legs are aligned on top of each other along the crease. Fold the top leg up so that the crotch point is visible. Now, using a cloth measuring tape start measuring from the crotch point all the way down to the bottom of the leg that is still laying flat.

Outseam

Lay the pants flat sideways so that both legs are aligned on top of each other along the crease. Using a cloth measuring tape, measure from the top of waistband down to the bottom of the leg, along the side seam of the pants.

Thigh

Lay the pants flat sideways so that both legs are aligned on top of each other along the crease. Fold the top leg up so that the crotch point is visible. Now, using a cloth measuring tape at 2" below the crotch point, measure straight across the width of the leg, perpendicular to the inseam.

Knee

Lay the pants flat sideways so that both legs are aligned on top of each other along the crease. Fold the top leg up so that the crotch point is visible. Now fold the bottom leg from the knee level that is by adjusting the bottom to the crotch. Now above 1" from the folded part measure the knee width exactly from one side end to the other using a cloth measuring tape.

Bottom

Lay the pants flat sideways so that both legs are aligned on top of each other along the crease. Measure across the bottom of the pant hem, from one edge of the leg opening to the other, using a cloth measuring tape.
