I went with made-to-measure and entered dimensions gathered from a pair of pants that fit near-perfectly. I was attempting to have something made in a fuller classic cut with room in the hips and thigh. When I sent in the measurements, I was promptly contacted by Luxire saying that the "pattern experts" could not make the trousers in the dimensions I sent. They suggested a 1.5" reduction in the thigh and added 1" to the hip measurements. I accepted the changes only to find that the trousers were still too tight in the seat and thigh. All the other aspects were as requested (inseam, pockets, pleats, buttons, color, etc.), but the trousers are too tight for the pleats to close when I'm standing and are also uncomfortable when trying to crouch or ascend stairs. Because I added lining to my order, the total ended up being over $100, thus disqualifying me from being able to have these trousers remade in a roomier cut. So I have effectively paid $109 for trousers I can't wear.
